Presentation on treatment injury by Rachel Taylor and Karen Williams (ACC). Medical misadventure was amended to treatment in jury in 2005. An update on treatment injury claims was provided for last 2 years since the new system was started.
2006
► ACC NURSE LIAISON GROUP - Summary of meeting 4 September 2006
Pip Rutherford commented that there are 26 Nurse Practitioners (NP) in the country. The NP status has been around for the past 5 years with Nurses applying for NP status in a staggered approach. Pip requested that a meeting be arranged by ACC to include Jenny Carryer, NZNC, and to look at pricing at the NP level. Each NP has a specific scope of practice. Kevin Morris indicated that ACC is not in a position to determine specifically what a NP is able to do. Michael is interested in being involved in this kind of group if one occurs.
2006
► ACC NURSE LIAISON GROUP - Summary of meeting June 12th 2006
The treatment profiles were returned to ACC at the end of April 06 after being peer reviewed by the College of Nurses , Aotearoa. It has been noted some of the information in the treatment profiles is of a basic first aid level that would not be thought necessary for a Registered Nurse holding a current APC

Pip Rutherford the College of Nurses representative developed a table and asked ACC group members to complete this, so the College of Nurses members could be kept informed of progress on issues that had been tabled at previous meetings.

The scope of this group is: to provide strategic input into primary community care developments undertaken by ACC, and the purpose is to: operate in such a way as to reflect the interests of nurse providers and claimants for whom the strategies are designed.
