Developing CV & Portfolio

In a leadership position you may still require maintenance of your APC and therefore it would be beneficial to you to maintain a 3 yearly portfolio.

Even if you don’t want to maintain a portfolio, everyone should maintain a C.V. It’s a work history which will come in as useful to you as it will to potential employers.

Portfolios are not just for levels of practice or ‘because you fee you have to’. Many people see them as a journey of personal development and a healthy career development process.

To help you complete a portfolio as a senior nurse, this page will offer you a variety of tools which you can utilise to support you in this journey.

  • CV/ resume development
  • Nursing Council NZ Competencies for RNs (including Competencies for nurses in research / managment and education roles)

  • Peer review
  • Leadership feedback
  • Writing case studies
  • Creating a teaching plan
