This key nursing leadership position is responsible for driving excellence in performance across theatre services in clinical practice and systems and processes to achieve the highest standards in patient outcomes.
 

Maroondah Hospital, Eastern Health is an expanding 365 bed Monash University teaching hospital, characterised by rapid change and development in recent years. The hospital encourages excellence in clinical practice and has adopted a patient focused approach to the delivery of clinical services. It provides a range of acute medical, surgical, and mental health services to the local community.

To be the successful candidate you will possess well developed leadership, management and nursing skills in operating theatre and perioperative care. Accountable for developing staff to deliver standards of excellence across theatre services and the provision of high quality patient focused services you are a strategic thinker with insight and are astute in problem solving and negotiation. Your skill set includes high quality relationship and financial resource management, the capacity to lead effective strategies in care delivery and legislative compliance, demonstrable knowledge of nursing professional issues and understanding of health, future tends and best practice principals, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the professional credibility to influence and effect change.

Essential qualifications: Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Registration Board Australia and a current practicing certificate. Perioperative post registration qualifications. Desirable: Post graduate qualifications in health or other studies(s) relevant to the post.
