Welcome to the Nurse Practitioners New Zealand Website
NPNZ is a forum for New Zealand registered Nurse Practitioners to contribute to individual and national advancement of the NP role. Membership is open to New Zealand registered nurse practitioners.
The purpose of NPNZ is to provide:
- A professional network for registered NP's
- A forum where practice direction is debated on a national level
- A forum to guide & integrate the strategic directions in the context of NP clinical practice
- A working relationship with the NP Advisory Committee of NZ
- A forum to contribute to ongoing development of nursing as a discipline
- A source of mentoring & support for all registered NP's in NZ
- Links with equivalent NP forums internationally
- A contact point for key stakeholders
- A framework for supporting & enhancing NP practice nationally
The NPNZ is chaired by Dr Michal Boyd
Dr Michal Boyd, RN, NP, ND, FCNA (NZ)
Dr Michal Boyd is a Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Waitemata DHB and a Senior Lecturer with the Freemasons' Department of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Auckland. She has been a provider, leader and researcher of care management for older people since the early 1990’s.
