Nurse Practitioner Primary Careon 8 March
Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (1.0 FTE)
Clutha Health First, Balclutha
Clutha Health First is a modern progressive and innovative Integrated Family Health Centre incorporating a General Practice, 15 bed Medical ward, General Practice, Medical Assessment Unit, Primary Maternity birthing unit, onsite radiology and pathology services, a broad range of specialist outpatient clinics and supporting Community/Allied Health services.
It is now seeking expressions of interest from Nurse Practitioners (Primary Care/Endorsed Prescriber) to join our practice which incorporates 5 x GPs, 10 x Practice Nurses, 1 x NP, 1 x EC and a large administration staff. It is anticipated the NP will work across the spectrum of primary care to deliver services to their own enrolled patients as well as rostered days to the Medical Assessment Unit. A significant proportion of the NP work is managing acute demand so experience in the emergency and acute setting would be an advantage. An interest in developing skills in dermoscopy and or geriatric care would be supported.
As a Cornerstone accredited practice about to embark on the accreditation pathway as a Health Care Home facility, and for the facility to be a Rural Hub under the Southern DHBs Primary and Community Health strategy; there is huge potential for the right candidate to be at the forefront of fundamental changes to how health is to be delivered to our rural communities.
Balclutha is situated on the banks of the Clutha River with the Catlins coastline just 20 minutes’ drive away where you will find world class surf beaches, spectacular coastal scenery and wildlife. The South Otago region offers a broad range of outdoor and sporting opportunities, easy access to beaches and rivers, a relaxed lifestyle, friendly people and supportive community with strong educational facilities all combining to deliver a good work life balance.
