Clinical Nurse Manager wanted in the Bay of Islands

Kerikeri Retirement Village is looking for a new Clinical Nurse Manager

We are looking for a new passionate member to join our great team and oversee the operations of our facility with the support of a full management team at our Village in Kerikeri in the Far North.

We are seeking an inspirational clinical leader to come and join our great team. We’ve been operating for over 35 years and are governed by a Board of Directors of our charitable company. This role reports into the Chief Executive of the Village. Our Village has 120 independent living units, plus our care facility.

We are a values-based organisation which focuses on the individual people who live here, and we’re supported by a long-standing dedicated team of staff. Our model of care is based on the Spark of Life programme, with some staff members already trained in this deeply effective.

There’s a lot going on at our Village and we’re looking for someone with relevant experience and high energy to support the people who call this place home and working with our clinical team. We have a 66-bed facility, across three levels of care.

Applicants should have at least seven years’ experience in a leadership and nursing role or a similar position with relevant aged care experience.

Key responsibilities of the position will include:

Providing leadership to all clinical staff at the top of scope while supporting and overseeing staff to monitor and ensure quality care and continuous improvement for a high-quality based environment for our residents.

The position itself offers a good variety of duties in an environment away from the never-ending traffic the main centres offer. We’re a small community idyllically located in the Bay of Islands and offer a fantastic lifestyle in our tropical micro-climate.

Do you have the skills to lead and manage people, computer literacy, good time management, a structured work ethic and the drive to meet objectives and operate a facility with great support? Are you up to date with the aged care sector and have a commitment to ongoing learning and development?

Applicants must be excellent communicators (both written and oral), have a drive for success and at least a current NZ nursing registration with a genuine empathy for seniors and the aged care sector.

This is a rare opportunity to join a great and supported team and take on a valued and rewarding job.

Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience

Hours: 40 hours – flexibility required at times

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
