My nursing career spans over 25 years in both Australia and New Zealand.  Initially I practiced in a range of acute clinical settings, before taking on the clinical manager role in aged residential care. In 2009 I branched out as an independent nurse consultant providing education and health & disability solutions to smaller health care providers. Problem solving and crisis management have been strength areas of my practice, I have held several interim roles where the re-establishment of organisational structure has been the focus. I have enjoyed the challenge of setting up systems to meet the requirements of Nga paerewa Health & Disability service standards and build sustainable business longevity. Most recently I held the position of Operations Manager in aged residential care. Throughout my career I have been reminded of the power of nurses working collegially. It has been a privilege to provide professional supervision to nurses for over 10 years, during this time I have witnessed the growth of nurses who actively engaging in regular supervision. My hope for all New Zealand nurses to intentionally pursue professional supervision. I recently qualified as a health and wellbeing coach with an emphasis on metabolic health, I enjoy engaging with individuals who are eager to identify lifestyle goals and change behaviours to sustain those goals.
