Role / Title
Registered Mental Health Nurse and Professional Supervisor
Qualifications
Master of Professional Practice in Supervision, BSc Mental Health Nursing
Introduction
I have been working in mental health for over 20 years and have completed my BSc in Mental Health Nursing in 2012. I have worked within adult acute mental health inpatient units, older adult inpatient mental health settings, perinatal mental health community (Maternal Mental Health as a clinical coordinator and keyworker) and most recently taking a role as a senior nurse educator in the child, youth and families portfolio.
I started studying professional supervision as it has always been an area of passion for me, I am especially interested in stress and trauma in healthcare workers, and how this can impact on us as employees, as well as the organizational approach and what is in our control and what is not-and how best to navigate this. We all come to the caring profession because we care, so I want to try my best to support those going above and beyond who might be feeling undervalued, or feel that they aren't making a difference (though you will be)-to improve confidence and really build and gain satisfaction out of the work we have all trained to be involved in.
