Role / Title
Professional supervisor. RN
Qualifications
RN, MPallCAgedCare
Introduction
My nursing experience has been mainly working in the area of palliative care in aged care. I have a strong interest in supporting and mentoring nurses so that they provide good clinical care and safe practice, but also so that they can sustain genuine compassion and personal satisfaction in their day-to-day work. I have a Master’s degree in Palliative care in Aged care and much of my learning/teaching focus has been on communication and its role in the provision of care. This continues to be an area of interest for me.
As a new supervisor I bring my own very positive experience of being a supervisee, and the possibilities for transformative thinking, to a supervisory relationship. I believe that reflection on practice is one of the best ways to learn. “The best teachers are not outside of us – they are inside.” I am looking forward to working with supervisees who are willing to look honestly at their contribution to their workplace and embrace new learning.
