My nursing career spans over several areas of practice and has provided me with a broad clinical foundation. I began my career in general nursing, then spent two years in public health nursing in Fiji before relocating to New Zealand and continuing my nursing career. My experience in New Zealand has included rest home nursing, corrections nursing, youth mental health, ICAMHS, and Early Intervention in Psychosis.

I am a Senior Registered Nurse, Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) and clinical supervisor with experience across corrections nursing, youth mental health and ICAMHS. I currently work within a kaupapa Māori mental health service, supporting rangatahi and whānau experiencing complex mental health needs through an Early Intervention in Psychosis service.

I am currently completing the final paper of my Master of Health Science (Nursing) on the Nurse Practitioner pathway, further developing my advanced clinical reasoning, evidence-informed practice and leadership capability.

I provide supervision and clinical support to new graduate nurses, NESP nurses, junior nurses, colleagues and student nurses as required. My supervision approach focuses on patient safety, reflective nursing practice, cultural safety, professional boundaries, therapeutic relationships, clinical accountability and ongoing professional development.

As an external supervisor, my vision is to provide a safe, supportive and constructive space where nurses can reflect openly, strengthen clinical confidence and reasoning, and develop their professional identity. I am particularly passionate about supporting nurses who may struggle to access appropriate supervision and helping them build strong foundations for safe, culturally responsive and professional nursing practice.
