New community medicine supply notices

Codeine (15 mg, 30 mg, 60 mg tablets) The supplier has run out of the 30mg due to shipping delays. There are limited supplies of the 15 mg and 60 mg tablets. Pharmac is working closely with the supplier and wholesalers to manage the supply issue.

Desmopressin acetate (Desmopressin-PH&T) Nasal spray (Pharmacode: 2702916) Due to manufacturing delays and shipping issues, AFT is out of stock of this product. Other presentations of desmopressin remain available.

Isoniazid 100 mg with rifampicin 150 mg (Rifinah 100/150) tablets (Pharmacode: 251232) Current stock of Rifinah 100/150 tablets will expire at the end of November 2025. We have identified an alternative combination product and are working with the supplier to make this available.

Updated notices

Candesartan cilexetil (Candestar) Tab 32 mg (Pharmacode: 2380439) The supplier has received a shipment and is working to release stock to wholesalers. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks to reach pharmacies.

Glucose [Dextrose] (Biomed) Inj 50%, 10 ml ampoule (Pharmacode: 2243296) Resupply has been delayed.

Humapen Savvio Eli Lilly has updated their approach to supplying Humapen Savvio. Primary care providers, such as pharmacies and GPs, can still order the pens from Eli Lilly - email csr_newzealand@lilly.com

Hydrocortisone with miconazole (Micreme H) (Pharmacode 704733) The supplier has stock available again. It is working to release stock to wholesalers. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks to reach pharmacies

Methylphenidate From 1 December 2025, Sandoz XR will be funded to cover for supply shortages. It will be available to order during November 2025. Supplier stock holdings as at 29 October 2025.

Concerta: Stock of all strengths available
Ritalin: All strengths available, except 20 mg long acting
Rubifen: All strengths available, except 20 mg immediate release
Teva: All strengths available, except 27 mg.

Rizatriptan (Rizamelt) dispersible tab 10 mg (Pharmacode: 2394634) Stock has arrived with the supplier and stock is being released to wholesalers. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies.

Salbutamol (Asthalin) nebuliser 1 mg and 2 mg per ml The supplier advises that the 2 mg alternative (UK Cipla | Pharmacode: 2712199) has arrived. It is working to get the stock released as soon as possible. The supply date of the 1 mg product is still to be confirmed.

Sodium chloride (Biomed) nebulising solution 7%, 90 ml (Pharmacode: 2378701) Resupply has been delayed until early November 2025. Biomed has written to affected customers about this issue.
