New medicine supply notices


New Pharmacodes listed from 12 June:


Pharmacies can claims for June dispensings in June.


Brand changes


Colchicine (500 mg tablets) Colchicine Indoco will be listed 1 July. A brand switch fee will be available from 1 December. Information for patients, including pictures and a flyer, is available on the website.


Thiamine 50mg tablets


From 1 July 2026 thiamine 50mg tablets REX Medical brand (Pharmacode: 2716372) will be listed on the Pharmaceutical Schedule. These tablets look different, they are yellow to off white, round tablets, and have no additional markings. The current Multichem brand (Pharmacode: 2646552) will be delisted on 1 December 2026.


Supply issues


Lansoprazole (30 mg) capsules (Pharmacode: 2482541) An alternative was listed 12 June. It is an oro-dispersible tablet. Details, pictures and a patient flyer are available on the website. Pharmacies can claims for June dispensings in June.


Pioglitazone (Vexazone) 30 mg tab (Pharmacode: 2479443) The 30 mg tablet is likely to run out before the next shipment in August. Where the 30 mg is not available, 2 x 15 mg can be used.


Rizatriptan (Rizamelt) dispersible tab 10 mg (Pharmacode: 2394634) An alternative has been listed from 12 June 2026. The alternate, Rizatriptan Rising, will be available by the end of June. Pharmacies can claims for June dispensings in June.


Updated medicine supply notices


Candesartan (Candestar) 4 mg tablets (Pharmacode: 2380404) There have been some delays in the release of the funded alternate. However stock should be available now.


Efavirenz with emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil (Viatris) (Pharmacode: 2644967). A temporary new brand will be funded from 12 June 2026. Stock of the currently supplied brand, Teevir, is likely to run out before the end of June. Pharmacies can claims for June dispensings in June.



  • Concerta: Supply of 27 mg tablets out of stock. All other strengths available.

  • Ritalin: All strengths available

  • Rubifen: All strengths available

  • Sandoz XR: All strengths available

  • Teva: Supply of 36 mg tablets low. Other strengths available.


Nutricia (special food products) The following are out of stock.


  • KetoCal 4:1 (Unflavoured) Pharmacode: 2639378

  • PKU Lophlex LQ20 (125 ml Juicy berry flavour) Pharmacode: 2470535

  • TYR Anamix Infant Pharmacode: 2405342


Progesterone (Utrogestan) 100 mg capsule (Pharmacode: 2086905) The supplier once again has sufficient stock of progesterone. We are working on returning this product to 3-monthly dispensing.
