New community medicine notices
Chloramphenicol eye drops: Chlorsig is changing to Chlorafast (Pharmacode: 335142) Chlorsig eye drops are changing to Chlorafast eye drops. Chlorsig will remain available until December and funded until 1 March 2026. Chlorafast is likely to be available from late October. A flyer for patients about this brand change is available.
Condyline (podophyllotoxin) (Pharmacode: 701610) Condyline will be unavailable from October until early 2026. We have listed an alternative, which will be available by late October. This product is labelled in French. More information and a patient flyer are available.
Dexamethasone phosphate (4 mg/ml inj): Brand change (Pharmacodes: 2690527, 2690535) The new brand (Medsurge) was listed 1 October and the previous brand (Hameln) will be delisted 1 March 2026.
Disopyramide (Rythmodan) (Pharmacode 2658062) From October 2025, the packaging for Rythmodan is changing. It is changing from a Canadian pack (Cheplapharm) to a UK pack (Neon). A flyer for patients is available.
Fexofenadine (Telfast) 60 mg (Pharmacode 949841) Telfast tablets are temporarily unfunded because of a change of packaging and Pharmacode. As soon as we were alerted, we began the process to get the new Pharmacode listed. We are working towards a 1 November listing.
Sodium cromoglicate (Ralicrom) Cap 100 mg (Pharmacode: 2628295) Due to increased demand, there is a supply issue affecting this product. Resupply is expected by the end of October.
Zinc (Zincaps) 50 mg capsule (Pharmacode: 258253) Zincaps are likely to run out in October. We have listed an alternative. Details and a patient flyer are available.
Updated notices
Diazoxide (Proglicem) 100 mg tabs (Pharmacode: 2434601). The supplier is expecting a shipment to arrive in early October 2025.
Fluticasone (Flixotide Accuhaler) 50 mcg (Pharmacode: 402958) Product has arrived in New Zealand and should be available for pharmacies by mid October.
Glucose [Dextrose] (Biomed) Inj 50%, 10 ml ampoule (Pharmacode: 2243296) There has been a delay to the resupply of the 10 ml ampoules. The 90 ml ampoules remain available.
Hydrocortisone butyrate (Locoid products) 0.1% All presentations of Locoid products are now available.
Methylphenidate Supplier stock holdings as at 3 October 2025. This remains the same as last week.
Concerta: All strengths available except 27 mg
Ritalin: All strengths available, except 20 mg long acting
Rubifen: All strengths and presentations, except 20 mg immediate release
Teva: only 36 mg strength available
MiniMed Mio Infusion sets We have been advised that most MiniMed Mio infusion consumables have now run out.
Oxycodone (Oxycodone Amneal) 5, 10, and 20 mg tabs immediate release tablets Wellmed advises that the next delivery has been delayed until mid-to-late October. Availability of the 10 and 20 mg are limited and some pharmacies may not be able to get stock. The 5 mg is out of stock.
Salbutamol (Asthalin) nebuliser 1 mg and 2 mg per ml (Pharmacodes: 2154315 and 2154323) The supplier advises that the deliveries for the funded alternatives have been delayed. Pharmac is looking into options to ensure people can continue to access this product.
Sodium chloride (Biomed) nebulising solution 7%, 90 ml (Pharmaode: 2378701) Resupply has been delayed until later in October 2025. Biomed has written to affected customers about this issue.

Risperidone (4 mg tablets) (Pharmacode 2466937)
Note: Supply issues are marked as resolved when the supplier has product available. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around the motu.
