About the role
This role is an exciting opportunity to work in our specialised Child and Family unit, Haumaru Ōrite.
This is a 1.0 FTE role (0.5 FTE leadership role with 0.5 FTE clinical role). The clinical role may be worked on-site or in other parts of our directorate depending on clinical need. We are looking for a suitably experienced senior clinician (allied health, nursing, or medicine) and visionary leader to provide clinical leadership and effective management to the clinical teams of the Child and Family and Mother and Baby units.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Child and Family Unit (CFU) is an 18-bed child and adolescent mental health inpatient unit working with young people from 0 - 18 years and their families. We are one of only three specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health service units in the country, serving a large part of the North Island with a strong commitment to collaboration between rangatahi, whānau, kaimahi, and a wide variety of stakeholders.
We also have a three-bed Mother and Baby unit, which is only the second of its kind in New Zealand. The unit is situated on the first floor of Starship Children's Health, which is part of Auckland City Hospital.

About you

The role requires someone with a collaborative and positive working style who is committed to developing a strong team to promote quality outcomes for consumers. You will have a strong personal drive, a determination to deliver improvements, and a sound understanding of regional services.
As the Service Clinical Director, you will:
lead and ensure the clinical quality and safety of the service
lead implementation of changes to the Model of Care
be committed to reducing inequities in health outcomes for Māori service users and their whānau
safeguard high standards of care by creating an environment where excellence in clinical care can flourish and develop in line with the vision for the directorate
provide leadership and management of the service’s clinical workforce, fostering appropriate succession planning, excellence in practice standards, and professional conduct
actively provide clinical leadership and effective management of the service’s performance to drive productivity improvements
manage projects as allocated by the co-directors of Kāhui o te Ihi (Mental Health and Addiction Directorate) or their delegate.
