We operate 24/7 and the role will be rostered to cover any shifts within the operating hours.

Ko tāuake mahi | What you will be doing

This is an exciting opportunity for nurse practitioners to be part of the Pegasus Health 24 Hour Surgery team.  The nurse practitioner role is part of the Advanced Nursing Practice Team and works to improve sustainable access to and standards of clinical care for people accessing acute level services.

• Utilising your advanced clinical skills in the urgent care setting.

• Working autonomously and collaboratively to promote health, prevent disease, and improve access and population health outcomes within the urgent care setting.

• Coordinating care across the care continuum

• Exercising sound judgement and negotiation skills aimed at achieving people-centered outcomes and empowerment to make decisions and recommendations related to urgent care services and enhancing professional nursing practice across the region.

• Have an interest in clinical teaching and supporting other nurses on their advanced nursing practice journey to Nurse Practitioner.

  
  

Ko ngāpūkengaōu | What you will bring

• 3+ years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner

• Sound knowledge and understanding of medico-legal and ethical responsibilities within the New Zealand urgent care clinical setting and have experience in mentoring, coaching, and informal teaching.

• Registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, preferably with recent clinical experience in the urgent care and/or primary care setting.

• Enthusiasm and passion for improving healthcare for the people of Canterbury, Able to work well under pressure, whilst offering exceptional patient care at all times.

• Skills to promote equitable access to health care and equitable outcomes.
