Conflict in the Middle East


Suppliers are working closely with Pharmac to reduce any disruption to people in New Zealand. Where issues arise, we will communicate them on our website and through this email.



New medicine supply notices

 

Candesartan (Candestar) 4 mg tablets Stock is low. An alternative has been listed, it has French labelling. A patient flyer with pictures is available for download.


Isosorbide mononitrate (Ismo 40 Retard) 40 mg (Pharmacode: 2447355) Due to an increase in demand and shipping delays, stock is running low.


Ivermectin (Stromectol) tab 3 mg: Pharmacode update A new Pharmacode (2726424) is listed from 1 April. Stock of the old Pharmacode (2087057) has run out at the supplier.


Pazopanib (Teva) 200 mg tablets (Pharmacode: 2695332) Due to manufacturing changes, there is limited stock. A S29 alternative was listed from 1 April.


Phenytoin sodium (Dilantin) 30 mg capsules (Pharmacode: 2619458) Equipment failure delayed the next shipment of this product. A shipment has arrived and was distributed to wholesalers.


Updated medicine supply notices

 

Iloprost (Vebulis) nebulisers Stock has arrived. We are waiting for confirmation from the supplier about when the stock will be released to wholesalers.



We’ve heard that some pharmacies are having difficulty accessing strengths/brands that are listed as available. Please follow up with your wholesaler, this is the stock that is available with the supplier.


  • Concerta: Only the 54 mg is available

  • Ritalin: All strengths available

  • Rubifen: All strengths available

  • Sandoz XR: All strengths available

  • Teva: All strengths available.

Olanzapine (Zypine ODT) 10 mg orodispersible tablets (Pharmacode: 2439840) There has been a delay to the delivery of the registered product. We are looking at listing another S29 brand to ensure stock of this product is available. 


Oxycodone oral liquid (Lucis) (Pharmacode 2678500) Stock levels are low. Further shipments are expected during April and May. 


Ursodeoxycholic acid (Ursosan) (Pharmacode: 2397528) Stock has arrived and should be available to order by mid-April. 


Zinc (Zincaps) 50 mg capsule (Pharmacode: 258253) Registered stock is being released to wholesalers. It may take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around the country.


Resolved issues


Note: Supply issues are marked as resolved when the supplier has product available. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around the motu.
