The Pharmac website is experiencing an intermittent issue with not displaying published pages, either on an index page (like medicine notices) or through site search.
The pages are published. You can find them by clicking the links in this email or using an external search engine, such as google, to search the chemical name and “pharmac nz”.
We are working to resolve this issue.
Calcitriol (0.25 mcg and 0.5 mcg caps): Brand change
A tender has been awarded to Devatis to supply calcitriol capsules. This will resolve the long-standing supply issue with AFT brand calcitriol. Details around timing and a patient leaflet are available on the website.
Clotrimazole (Clomazol) 1% vaginal cream
Due to delays at the factory, the supplier is likely to run out of this product (Pharmacode: 2155656). Patients will need to talk to a prescriber about a new prescription for an alternative product.
Dapsone (25 mg tablets): Brand change
The current brand of 25 mg dapsone is being discontinued (Pharmacode: 2212226). A temporary s29A alternative will be funded from 1 September (Pharmacode: 2736284). We consulted about how to manage this discontinuation long-term in June 2026, we are reviewing the feedback and will announce the decision in due course.
Sodium valproate (Epilim) 100 mg crushable tablet
The supplier has discontinued this product (Pharmacode: 539724). Patients will need to move to a new presentation. There are funded alternatives. Prescribers will need to monitor patients as part of this change. A patient flyer and more details are available on the website.
Updated supply notices
Methylphenidate: Supply issue
All strengths of all brands are available, however the 18 mg Teva brand is running low on stock.
Perindopril (Coversyl): Patients need new prescription
Due to a change in the active ingredient’s salt, the strength has changed for Coversyl. The amount of perindopril available remains the same. Patients will need a new prescription.
More information and a patient flyer are available on our website

Please talk to patients about moving to the Autosoft Infusion sets. Without more people moving to Autosoft from Trusteel, the supplier will run out of Trusteel infusion sets. This means anyone who cannot use Autosoft may need to manually inject insulin.
