Suppliers are working closely with Pharmac to reduce any disruption to people in New Zealand. Where issues arise, we will communicate them on our website and through this email.
New medicine supply notices
Hydralazine hydrochloride (20 mg ampoule) there is a supply issue affecting the Apresoline brand (Pharmacode: 274550 and 2446227). We have listed two alternatives - they have important differences from Apresoline, see the website for details.
Montelukast (tab 5 mg) (Pharmacode: 2643626) Due to an issue at the factory, Viatris (the supplier) expects to run out of this product. An alternative has been listed. More information, including pictures of the alternative are available.
Ramipril (all strengths) Due to an issue at the factory, all strengths of Ramipril will go out of stock. We have funded Section 29A alternatives from 1 May. Pictures and patient flyers are available on the website.
Updated medicine supply notices
Isosorbide mononitrate (Ismo 40 Retard) 40 mg: Healthcare Logistics advises that stock has arrived and back orders have been sent out to wholesalers. It can still take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around the country.
Methylphenidate: Supply issue All strengths of all brands are in stock at the suppliers.
Nutricia: supply issue The following Nutricia products are out of stock:
PKU GMPro Ultra lemonade (Pharmacode: 2657201)
Loprofin rice (Pharmacodes: 2218259)
PKU Lophlex LQ10 | Juicy Berries (Pharmacode: 2470586)
OncoTICE (bacillus calmette-guerin) Stock of this product remains restricted. Information on how to order it is available on the website.
Teriparatide (Teva) A shipment has arrived and is going through standard quality checks. We will update the website once stock has been released to wholesalers. The Forteo brand remains available in the meantime.
