Have your say: Exceptional Circumstances Framework review – join an online Webinar

  • 2 min read

Pharmac is reviewing how it funds medicines for people with exceptional clinical circumstances (including the Named Patient Pharmaceutical Assessment - NPPA), and we want to hear from you.

We’ve heard that the current Exceptional Circumstances Framework can be difficult to understand and doesn’t always work as well as it should. This review is an opportunity to improve how the framework operates, and your feedback is important.

Nothing will change during the review - applications will continue as usual, and existing funding approvals will stay in place.

Join an online Webinar

We’re hosting a series of online sessions where we will:

  • provide an overview of the review and what it covers

  • explain how the current framework works

  • answer your questions.

Each session is 1 hour, including time for questions and discussion. The session is an opportunity to hear more and ask questions using the Q&A function in MS Teams.

Session options

We’re offering four sessions in total:

  • Two sessions with a greater focus on clinical and supplier perspectives and the application process

  • Two sessions with more emphasis on consumer perspectives and experiences of accessing funding for medicines

These sessions reflect the different roles people may have accessing medicines through the Exceptional Circumstances Framework and will allow us to make the most of the time available for discussion.

You’re welcome to attend any session.
