New medicine supply notices

Colestyramine (Mylan) (Pharmacode: 2662000) Supplies may be limited from late May until July 2026. An alternative (Pharmacode: 2700026) was funded from 1 June and should be available from Orspec in early June.


Kisqali (ribociclib): Storage changes Kisqali will once again be able to be stored at room temperature. More details and a flyer for patients are available on our website.


Neocate Gold: Funding issue The Pharmacode for new look Neocate Gold was funded from 1 June.


Oestradiol valerate (Progynova) tab 2 mg (Pharmacode 2619423) Due to a shipping delay, there will be an out of stock of this product. An alternative is funded from 1 June. Details are available on the website.


Risperidone (0.5 mg and 2 mg tablets) Due to an issue at the factory, the supplier will run out of these tablets. Alternatives have been funded, details and a flyer for patients are available on the website.


TruSteel infusion sets Stock of all infusion sets will be limited in the near future. We are asking that prescribers consider transferring people to the AutoSoft infusion set, where clinically appropriate. Details on managing the transition are available on the website.


Antimicrobial stewardship: Memo


Heath NZ (Te Whatu Ora) has issued a memo about co-prescription of:


  • Amoxicillin + clavulanic acid PO 625mg (500 + 125mg) three times daily with

  • Amoxicillin PO 500mg three times daily



Updated medicine supply notices

 

Calcium Resonium powder (Pharmacode: 201510) Resupply has been delayed until June 2026. The funded alternative is available.


Dexamethasone phosphate (Medsurge) Inj 4 mg per ml, 2 ml ampoule (Pharmacode: 2690535) Resupply of the 2 ml amps has been delayed. Stock of the 1 ml amps is available as an alternative.


Methylphenidate: Supply issue All strengths of all brands are available.

Nutricia is out of stock of the following products:


  • Easiphen liquid (Pharmacode: 2450828)

  • PKU Lophlex LQ20 125 ml Juicy berry flavour (Pharmacode: 2470535)

  • TYR Anamix Infant (Pharmacode: 2405342)


Teriparatide (Teva) (Pharmacode: 2670399) The Teva stock is available from the supplier again. Forteo will remain funded to allow time for pharmacies to claim.


Resolved issues

 

Note: Supply issues are marked as resolved when the supplier has product available. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around the motu.
