New medicine supply notices

Codeine phosphate (Noumed) 30 mg (Pharmacode: 2643219) There is stock available. We have had reports that some pharmacies have experienced restrictions on supply of codeine. The supplier is working with wholesalers to understand why this is happening. While stock may get low, we do not anticipate a complete outage.


Colestyramine (Powder) 4 g sachet Supplies of colestyramine powder sachets will be limited (Pharmacode: 2662000). Pharmac is investigating funded alternatives.


Rifampicin (Rifadin) oral liquid the supplier has limited stock of Rifadin oral liquid (Pharmacode: 251208). We ask that pharmacies continue to dispense the short-dated stock (where possible) to conserve supply.


Updated medicine supply notices


Droperidol inj 2.5 mg per ml, 1 ml ampoule (Pharmacode: 2690543) The supplier is receiving small shipments of droperidol. A full resupply is expected in June 2026.


Efavirenz with emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil (Viatris) (Pharmacode: 2644967) Resupply has been delayed. There is ample stock of the section 29 alternative.


Imiquimod (Padagis) (Pharmacode: 2715775) A shipment of Padagis imiquimod arrived 7 May 2026. It is available for wholesalers.


Methylphenidate: Supply issue All strengths of all brands are in stock at the suppliers.


Nutricia: supply issue The following Nutricia products are out of stock:


  • Loprofin rice (Pharmacodes: 2218259)

  • PKU Lophlex LQ10 | Juicy Berries (Pharmacode: 2470586)

  • Elemental 028 | Pineapple and orange flavour (Pharmacode 2450801)


Oestradiol (Estradot) 75 mcg patch (Pharmacode: 2514346) The shipment has arrived and been released to wholesalers. We have heard from pharmacies that other strengths have been unavailable. There is stock with the supplier, we do not have visibility over stock at wholesalers or how wholesalers are managing their stock.


Proctosedyl (suppositories) The supplier advises that a shipment of Proctosedyl suppositories (Pharmacode: 208396) has arrived and is available for wholesalers to order.


Progesterone (Utrogestan) 100 mg capsule An approved alternative was funded from 8 May 2026. Details and picture of the alternative available on the website.


Salbutamol (Ventolin) Inj 1 mg per ml (Pharmacode: 257923) The supplier has received a shipment and released stock to wholesalers.


Sodium cromoglicate (Ralicrom) Cap 100 mg (Pharmacode: 2628295) Stock of the registered product has been released to wholesalers


Resolved issues


Note: Supply issues are marked as resolved when the supplier has product available. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around the motu.
