Nelson Tasman Hospice is part of the Whakatu and Te Tai o Aorere communities, providing specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illness and their whānau. Our team plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care across our region.


We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our interdisciplinary team (IDT) in a permanent, full-time role.


This position involves advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with palliative care needs, including prescribing, care planning, and participation in the on-call roster maybe required.

  • Registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing

  • Council of New Zealand (NZNC), with prescribing authority

  • Recent experience in palliative care or a closely related field

  • A relevant Master’s degree (or equivalent postgraduate qualification)

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and prescribing skills

  • Sound knowledge of evidence-based practice, medico-legal, and ethical responsibilities

  • A full, clean driver’s licence

  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to culturally safe practice

  • Awareness of health inequities and a commitment to equity-focused care

  • A flexible, collaborative, and positiveapproach to workingwithin an IDT
