Competitive remuneration, professional autonomy and more control over how you work.

Waiuku Health Centre is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our collegial primary care team in Waiuku, South Auckland.

We offer full-time or part-time hours, with flexibility and genuine input into how your working week is structured. This is an opportunity to practise at the top of your scope, enjoy meaningful community healthcare and maintain a sustainable work–life balance.

Remuneration: $150,000–$170,000 FTE equivalent, depending on experience and capability.

Why join us?

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to use your advanced assessment, diagnostic and prescribing skills across a broad range of primary care.

You will work alongside experienced GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants and a prescribing clinical pharmacist, with strong administrative and management support.

Our team-based approach gives you professional autonomy while ensuring experienced colleagues are available when collaboration or another clinical perspective is valuable.

We offer:

  • Competitive remuneration reflecting your experience and capability

  • Full-time or part-time options

  • Flexibility and genuine input into the structure of your working week

  • Professional autonomy within a supportive clinical environment

  • Strong GP, nursing, HCA, pharmacist and administrative support

  • A varied mix of acute, planned and longitudinal care

  • Face-to-face and telehealth consulting

  • Modern, well-equipped premises using Indici

  • Opportunities to develop your clinical interests

  • Support for ongoing professional development

New to primary care?

Previous general practice experience is welcomed, but it isn't necessarily essential.

We are interested in hearing from Nurse Practitioners from a range of clinical backgrounds who have strong assessment and diagnostic skills and an interest in developing their practice in primary care.

If you are moving from another area of practice, we will take into account your existing experience and competencies and support an appropriate transition into general practice, with access to experienced GP colleagues and progressive development of the breadth of your primary care practice.

About you

You will be a Nurse Practitioner registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, with a current practising certificate.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Brings substantial clinical experience and advanced practice expertise

  • Enjoys assessment and management of a varied patient population

  • Is confident working autonomously within their area of competence and experience

  • Recognises when collaboration, consultation or referral is appropriate

  • Values multidisciplinary, team-based care

  • Is interested in developing or extending the breadth of their primary care practice

  • Wants to make a meaningful contribution to the community they serve

Life in Waiuku

Waiuku offers the rewards of working in a genuine community while remaining connected to Auckland.

The Awhitu Peninsula and west coast are on the doorstep, with beaches, outdoor activities and plenty of space. It is a place where you can build relationships with patients, become part of the community and still have time and energy for life outside work.

Let's talk

You don't need to make a formal application to start a conversation.

We would be happy to have an informal and confidential discussion about remuneration, hours, your clinical background and experience, and how you would like to structure your working week.
