About the role
This full-time (32-40 hours/week) Nurse Team Leader position at Ostend Medical Centre, part of the Waiheke Health Trust, offers the chance to lead a team of primary care nurses providing high-quality care to residents and visitors on beautiful Waiheke Island. As the Nurse Team Leader, you will play a key strategic role in overseeing the nursing team and ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.
What you'll be doing
Provide clinical leadership and direction to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient care
Coordinate the scheduling and allocation of nursing resources to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the Waiheke Island community
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including a Nurse Practitioner, District Nurses and Well Child Tamariki Ora nurses, to develop and implement evidence-based nursing practices across the Waiheke Health Trust
Monitor and evaluate nursing performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
Contribute to the development of clinical policies, procedures, budgets and quality and equity reporting
Mentor and support the professional development of the nursing team
Represent the nursing team in multi-disciplinary meetings and liaise with key stakeholders
What we're looking for
Registered Nurse with a current NZ practicing certificate
Minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience, with demonstrated leadership in a community nursing or primary healthcare setting
Experience working in rural medicine or community-based acute care preferred as there are not A&M services on Waiheke Island
Prescribing rights preferred
Excellent clinical skills and a deep understanding of community-based nursing practices
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing nursing team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals
Proficient in the use of clinical information systems and data analysis
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
