We are looking for a senior Registered Nurse, to support the Charge Nurse Manager of our Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) at Nelson Hospital. Our ICCU is a 9-bed closed unit which provides acute and elective care across multiple specialties and across the lifespan.

The Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) will be responsible for daily coordination of the unit in partnership with the dedicated multidisciplinary team. They will provide clinical leadership for staff, assist with coaching and supervision, and will also provide direct patient care. The ACNM will have delegated responsibility for aspects of the CNM role such as rostering and performance management. The ACNM will be the lead nurse for the hospital wide, nurse-led Patient at Risk (PAR) service and provide operational management for this team.

This position reports to the ICCU CNM. Shifts will be rostered 8 hourly shifts, working predominantly between 0700 - 2000, Monday to Friday. There will be some flexibility required with hours, with occasional weekend or night shifts.

You will be a highly organised, motivated and adaptable individual with a strong team focus. Additionally, you will have a sound appreciation of the details involved in managing staff and coordinating facilities and resources in a sometimes pressured environment. We expect a composed manner and strong relational skills, both necessary attributes in a busy and sometimes reactive environment.
