We have a vacancy for a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our passionate team of healthcare professionals delivering quality primary health care to our community. We are a busy urban practice in Ngongotaha, an outer suburb of Rotorua and are committed to providing the best support, care and advice to improve the health and wellness of our community. The practice is Cornerstone accredited and is a training site for GP Registrars, trainee interns and nursing students. 

The successful applicant will be a skilled Nurse Practitioner who is well versed in all aspects of the provision of exceptional patient care. Working autonomously you will conduct physical assessments, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat common conditions, provide screenings, interventions, counselling, and prescribe medications as needed to a diverse range of patients across the life span.

Overall you will have exceptional nursing clinical skills, be a team player who is able to communicate effectively and is able to relate to our diverse patient population with empathy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Clinical leadership within the Practice
  • Manage the delivery of agreed integrated and comprehensive primary health care services
  • Play a lead role in the planning, development, implementation/review of clinical services
  • Manage and report on the clinical operations of the practice
  • Manage all external clinical interfaces and relationships

Key skills required are:

  • Registration with the NZNC as a Nurse Practitioner with a current APC and Professional Indemnity
  • Clinically focused Masters Degree in Nursing
  • Proven leadership and management ability
  • Proven clinical and health assessment skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient focused approach
  • Committed to quality improvement and professional development
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with empathy

Knowledge of Med Tech 32 would be an advantage but training and orientation will be provided to the successful applicant.
