We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Student Health Services team at the University of Waikato. This is a chance to deliver expert primary care in a collaborative, student-centred environment that values innovation, equity and wellbeing.
You'll work as part of an integrated and supportive multidisciplinary team including GPs, Counsellors, Registered Nurses, and Health Promotion Specialists to improve health outcomes for our diverse student population. Our students include young adults, international learners, mature students, and Maori and Pacific communities; so experience in youth health, sexual health, mental health, and culturally responsive care would be a strong advantage.

Salary will be based on the skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a part-time role (30 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

Ko wai koe? - Who are you?
If you're ready for your next challenge and want to join a passionate and student-focused health service team, you will be a qualified Nurse Practitioner with:
- a Masters degree
- current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as both a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner
- prescribing rights.
You will bring:
- at least five years of recent clinical experience
- excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills (essential)
- a proactive and flexible approach in a dynamic university setting.
An interest or experience in the health needs of tertiary students, including youth mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and Maori and Pacific health, would be a strong advantage. You will be committed to improving student health outcomes and capable of working effectively with a wide range of students from diverse backgrounds.
