 Leadership opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse in mental health

We’re looking for a māia (courageous) and tika (authentic) Registered Nurse to lead our Tauranga Respite service.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will lead a team of committed support workers well versed in the processes and practices of respite care. Collaborate with clinical teams and provide the clinical oversight to seamlessly support tangata whai ora for a short stay. The service has access to our Clinical Director and Kaiwhakaputahau for clinical and cultural guidance.

Our practice is guided by evidence-based frameworks, interwoven with trauma-informed and Peer principles. Role model and embed the values and practices of Pathways, while looking for opportunities to innovate and enhance the care we provide.

In our organization, the position is known as Team Coach and you will be part of a regional group of team coaches, reporting to a Service and Relationship Manager, who will facilitate a robust induction and provide ongoing support. You are joining a great team!

The position is permanent full time, based in Tauranga.

You | Mōu

We are interested to hear from candidates who thrives working in a fast-paced environment, leading a community-based mental health, addiction and wellbeing service.  You’ll be comfortable working within a Māori context and familiar with Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga.  You are a dynamic leader, great communicator, a self-starter. You are happy to work autonomously, compassionate, and a great individual with the ability to inspire those around you.  

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experienced in working in mental health and addiction services
  • Current clinical registration and leadership experience
  • Experience in providing trauma-informed care.
  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Uphold the integrity and mana of tāngata whai ora.
  • The ability to work innovatively to engage tāngata whai ora and whānau.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with funders and stakeholders.
