Claire Austin, Group Manager, Health Workforce New Zealand
Claire has expertise in strategy, change management, developing new policies and programs, health and social service delivery, workforce and regulation.
Claire has gained this expertise from her current and previous roles, including Chief Executive of the Cancer Society of New Zealand; Chief Executive of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners; Chief Executive of the Rural Workforce Agency of Victoria (RWAV) Australia; and Executive Director, International Health Professionals for Health Workforce Australia
Prior to her executive roles, Claire was a registered Psychiatric Nurse (United Kingdom) and holds a BA, Social Policy from Victoria University, Wellington. She is an alumnus of the International Health Leadership Programme, University of Cambridge, is a Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) and a certified Director of the NZ Institute of Directors.
