Introduction:

I am the founder & a trustee of True Colours Children’s Health Trust Board; I was CEO & Nurse Specialist for 21 years at True Colours, from May 2004 – July 2025. Before this, I worked at Hospice Waikato for 13 years and my Masters work was instrumental in setting up Rainbow Place, the children’s aspect of Hospice Waikato. Paediatric Palliative Care (PPC) is what I specialised in, with all post graduate work focused on the needs of children who live with complex health needs and those of their whānau. I received a QSM award for my services to children and their families in Waikato. Throughout the time of leading children’s health services, I have mentored many of my colleagues, both internal to True Colours and externally. I contributed to the Community Waikato Business Mentoring program in mentoring businesswomen. I enjoy supporting others on their own professional and personal growth journeys and feel humbled and privileged when others want to share their stories with me. It is an honour to learn from each other.
