Introduction:
I’ve been a nurse for over 35 years, which means I’ve seen a lot, done a lot—and probably brewed more tea in emergency situations than in actual tea breaks. My career has been anything but dull, with a strong foundation in Primary Care and current work as a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Lead in a very lively Urgent Care Clinic.
Along the way, I’ve taken on various supervisory and mentoring roles—supporting NP interns, RN prescribers, and RNs. I’m also a registered NZNC assessor, PDRP assessor, and regularly sit on NP panels, which means I spend a lot of time reading, assessing, and drinking coffee (sometimes simultaneously).
On the more adventurous side, I have a background in humanitarian nursing. I’m a proud member of both the NZ Red Cross and the NZ Medical Assistance Team (NZMAT), and I jump at any opportunity to deploy overseas.
I originally completed my Supervision Certificates a few years ago, but I recently attended a 2-day refresher course. It reminded me how much I love supporting others through supervision—whether it’s helping navigate workplace challenges, explore career goals, or simply pause and celebrate the wins (yes, even surviving Monday counts).
I bring a wealth of experience, a supportive ear, and a decent sense of humour to the supervision space.
